“Thanks to Parallels Mac Management, the IT teams can always monitor our entire Mac hardware and software inventory, as well as the current user logins. We can attach existing and new Mac devices to the network using a fully automated procedure.” Ian North, System Administrator at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation
In this blog post, we will explain how Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation from London uses Parallels Mac Management for Microsoft SCCM and what benefits they experience of having a single, powerful administration interface for both Windows and Mac computers.
The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation is a multi-academy trust with eight schools in southeast London. Around 600 employees work to inspire and support the 5,000 students so they can develop their full potential. System administrator Ian North is one of these staff members. Along with his colleagues from IT departments in each of the schools, Ian is responsible for the smooth operation and security of the Federation’s digital infrastructure. This includes the 2,500 Windows and Mac® computers used every day by students and staff members.
London-based Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation needed a solution to optimize the management of all desktop computers in order to enable asset management, software distribution, remote maintenance, license monitoring, and reporting—and they wanted to do it the same way for both Windows and Mac computers, from one centralized point of control.
Thanks to Parallels Mac Management, the Federation’s IT teams can now monitor the entire Mac hardware and software inventory. They can attach existing and new Mac devices to the network and install software, updates, and scripts automatically, as well as provide selected applications in a self-service portal for users. They are now able to ensure observance of the company´s compliance requirements by simply rolling out macOS configuration profiles.
- Management of all Windows and Mac computers from one centralized point of control.
- Highly efficient operating system deployment, software enrollment, and device registration.
- Unified hardware and software asset management, software metering, and macOS patch management.
- Background operation increases user productivity.
