2X Software Launches the Beta Version of the 2X HTML5 Gateway Client Allowing Users to Access Microsoft Windows Desktops and Applications from Any HTML5 Enabled Browser

DALLAS, TX, April 11th, 2013 — 2X Software, a global leader in virtual desktop and application delivery solutions, today announced that they have released the beta version of the 2X HTML5 Gateway. The 2X HTML5 Gateway is an add-on which can be used with 2X Remote Application Server version 10.5 or higher to enable connections from any HTML5 enabled browser. This provides users with the flexibility to connect directly to their remote desktops and applications from their browser wherever they are, whenever they want.

“The 2X HTML5 Gateway was designed to offer the real connectivity of a standard client, which is not common when it comes to HTML5 technology. This means higher scalability and less resource utilization on the server. All this, combined with a higher level of security, makes accessing your applications without any installation a reality. I’m proud that we can always deliver innovation in the products we release.”

Paul Gafa
CTO

The 2X HTML5 Gateway is developed using HTML5 technologies only, which makes it a very fast, stable and 100% device independent alternative to native clients. Read more about the features below:

Hi Ali, thanks for your feedback. Many of the features you listed are already in the product roadmap and will be released with future product updates.

  • Damian Stalls

I know a lot of manufacturers are still working on the “advanced features” however the main ones needed ASAP are:

Printing (send file to client as PDF pop-up)
Portal Customization (the current portal is very ugly)

Thanks for the feedback, Damian. Both suggestions are in the pipeline, so expect improvements with the upcoming releases.
